This agreement covers the Article Processing Charges (APCs) for corresponding authors affiliated with The Weizmann Institute publishing in over 900 journals which hybrid open access publishing (SAGE Choice), starting on 5 May 2020 and ending on 31 December 2020. Because there is already a significant discount in the APC, the Library cannot offer an additional 20% discount.
Articles submitted by eligible corresponding authors qualify for Open Access publishing under this agreement based on the date the article is accepted for publication. IMPORTANT: The offer is only available for 2 WEEKS from acceptance of the paper. For some reason, Sage requires that the discount offer expire.
During submission, you must identify Weizmann as your affiliated institution and indicate that you want to publish Gold Open Access. At acceptance, you will receive this message:
Open Access publication for your paper in <journal title> has been requested by Malmad. SAGE Publishing has an arrangement with Malmad – the Israeli Inter-University center for Digital Information Services, which represents universities of Israel, including your institution. The arrangement significantly reduces the open access process charge (APC) for authors publishing in the vast majority of SAGE subscription journals.
Once open access is confirmed, an APC payment link provided in order to complete the transaction. Publication requires author verification and articles will be published under a CC-BY-NC(4.0) license unless otherwise requested.
Fully OA Sage journals are not included in this discount. We are negotiating to receive a 20% discount on these titles in 2021. They include:
