Open Access

The Weizmann Library is working in various ways to help you with Open Access:

  • Agreements with leading publishers - The Library has agreements with leading publishers, which allow our researchers to publish open access articles free of charge or with a discount.
Most of these arrangements are under Transformative/Transitional Agreements (also called Read & Publish) whereby publishers have committed to flip hybrid journals to a fully Gold Open Access publishing model over time. Please visit our Open Access Glossary to learn more.
  • WIS Works (Weizmann Institutional Repository) - We encourages authors to make sure that their publishing contracts include Open Access via an Institutional repository. If this is done, the Library can display the full text of the article in WIS Works.
  • EU grants - If you have an EU grant and an upcoming reporting , the Library will contact you with an overview of the current status of your grant-related publications. NOTE!  New grants with Horizon Europe have VERY different requirements from Horizon 2020 grants.  If you receive a Horizon Europe grant, please review your publishing requirements with the Grants Department.  More information...
  • Need Help? If your grants require you to publish some of your work in an Open Access Institutional Repository, or if you need a location and DOI for a dataset? Please contact library@weizmann.ac.il for help.
